EEOC Announces Filing Platform Opening Dates
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently announced (click here for press release) the schedule for opening its filing platforms. Employers in a variety of industries should take note since most will have data from the past two years due. In light of the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, the EEOC previously delayed the opening of the 2019 EEO-1, 2020 EEO-3 and 2020 EEO-5 data collections.
The EEOC will open the data collection platforms based on the following schedule:
April 2021: 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection (Private Sector Employers)
July 2021: 2020 EEO-5 Data Collection (Public Elementary/Secondary School Districts)
August 2021: 2020 EEO-3 Data Collection (Local Referral Unions)
October 2021: 2021 EEO-4 Data Collection (State/Local Governments)
The exact dates the data collection will open will be posted on the EEOC website (www.eeoc.gov), the newly created EEOC data collections website (https://eeocdata.org), and affected filers will receive a letter in the mail.
We encourage employers to begin preparing to submit their EEO data based on the provided schedule and to monitor the EEOC websites for forthcoming deadlines.
